One avenue few up and coming music artists may not be aware of is crowd funding. Crowd funding is an under utilized means of achieving and maintaining a fan base, while helping an artist in a given endeavor. Being that I have a company assisting artists, several requests pour in from artists requesting production, recording, or distribution assistance. Many other individuals from other industries outside of entertainment have requested advice and assistance in jump starting their career dreams.
Crowd funding sources such as Kickstarter offers advantages over other investment avenues. Although a company or individual may not be able to receive as large an influx of cash or capital super quickly, a distinct options exist within crowd funding options. Artists can build up income while building an a loyal fan base who will support the artist. If an artist bring in enough support that could be a substantial earning to assist the artist whether it is production, recording, or distribution.
